Kissing the Blarney Stone

Hi!
I told you that I would do a post including a video that I shouwed the 1st graders in class one week. This is a video of people kissing the Blarney Stone, so that the kids could have a better understanding of how it actually works. It really did help! So, here it is:

Isn't that cool!? I've actually been to Ireland with my mom, sister, aunt, and grandparents. We've done a lot of traveling together. Anyway, Mom, Alicia, Donna (aunt), and I all walked (more like hiked!!) up all the stairs in Blarney Castle to get to the stone. It was really cool, but kind of scary because I had to take my glasses off : / I couldn't see a thing!!

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed that! Have any of you been to Ireland before and kissed the Blarney Stone? I'd LOVE to hear your stories!!
Hannah

  1. Hannah, what a great post anticipating St. Patty's Day :) I have heard of the Blarney Stone but didn't really know what it was about. That video is so cool and it's even cooler that you got to see it firsthand! My friend Megan went to Ireland last year and loved it. I would totally love to go someday. I've been to England but not to Scotland or Ireland yet. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hi Julie!
I never even made the connection to St. Patty's Day coming up (I've been thinking more of my birthday on March 15 *wink*)!

It was very cool to get to go to Ireland. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

I've been to about 10 different countries with my family and we're going to London this summer! It's been a tremendous amount of fun! I'm sure your friend Megan did love Ireland, it would be hard not to!

Hope you get there someday, you'll have to tell me when you do : )
    Thanks for stopping by!

  4. That is so cool, Hannah! But...I gotta say...it's also a little gross. No way would I want to kiss the same spot as everyone else!

    I agree w/Jessica! I'm also jealous! I've hardly traveled anywhere. :(

    Happy "early" Birthday!

  5. Hey Jessica!
Awww, don't be jealous. I'm sure you'll get to someday too! I'm just lucky that my grandparents want to take us along for the ride. Truth be told, they probably need us to some extent because they're both 83! Lol!

I'm glad you liked it. Now that you say it, yeah it is pretty big, isn't it!?

Thanks for stopping by : )

  6. LOL Lori! I guess I either 1) blocked it out at the time or 2) figured it's been there so long that the germs just....die with all those Irish winds!! *wink*

You will travel one day Lori and come and see me : ) That'll be a nice little trip for ya!

I'm glad you got to come by and see this, I was wondering how long it'd take you, since you wanted to see it! Lol....

  7. LOL Only in the last few years have I started turning into what my hubby calls a "germaphobe" (spelling?).

Awww! I would love to come see you, Hannah! In all your travels, you should head on down to GA. :p

I've been trying to come by more often, but sometimes I get sidetracked...sorry!

It's so much fun to feed your fish. I click real fast and make them go crazy! *tee hee*
